First week of school in Mexico

Sorry I did not write for so long. Our Internet was down for a long time. Getting to the subject, yesterday was the final day of the first week of school. My school starts at 7:50, Central time and ends at 2:30. Early, huh? The class is small, twelve students including me. It is not too far from my house, down the main road in San Felipe del Agua, to the left and you're there! One hour for lunch and recess. Our house is at the top of the main road to the left. The first week of school felt like the blink of an eye, real fast.

Food exchange

Mexican food. You think Mexican rice and quesadillas, right? Not always. Yesterday I had BBQ chicken here in Oaxaca. Ordering is also hard because you do not always  know what everything means, and there might be phrases you have never seen. The waiters do not always understand. Some food can get you pretty sick, but I have never gotten sick myself. Food is very good here, though. There are several markets where you can get fresh fruit, vegetables and tacos. There are other larger markets that sell clothing and souvenirs.

Moving - Just the Beginning

Moving. Big time fun. fun for pros, but not me. Moving is a bummer, especially to a foreign country. You can only bring that little amount ,you have to get rid of what you thought you could keep. Then you have to say good-by to your house. Later you realize how much you miss what you had. I had to go through all of that. It is harder than it looks and sounds. My family decided to move to Oaxaca (city), Oaxaca, Mexico for one year to emerse me in complete Spanish. There is very little English here in Oaxaca. But you can get around if you know only a little Spanish. It is our fourth day here, now we can get to Soriana (kind of like Safeway but bigger).                          Thank you for reading    Braedenb
